Today I combine two memes in one post. I will add Bridges Between into My World Tuesday.
This brigde is located in Trondheim connecting the city center and Nedre Elvehavn.
The bridge is crossing the river Nidelven. In Trondheim we like to call this bridge Blomsterbrua, The Flower Bridge. Because in the summertime there are lots of flowers planted out along the hand rail on both sides.
For more Bridges, please visit RuneE.
Some minutes away from the Flower Bridge you will find Nidaros Cathedral.
This wonderful cathedral was built between 1070 and 1300.
That's quite a church Ivar. You've captured it well. I can't help but wonder how old some of the grave stones are since the church is so old. I'll bet they all died from freezing to death ... lol!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bridge as well. I'm assuming it is a foot bridge? I can only imagine how wonderful it must look with flowers lining each side. It must be a lot of work to take care of them all!

ReplyDeletegreat series of shots of both the bridge and the cathedral which is truly an architectural gem.
ReplyDeleteas always i so enjoy your blog.

OOOOW iVAR I really am impressed by your ( and RuneE) brides , i love the size and reflections in the water, nice my world.

The cathedral is magnificent, especially with the way you caught the light on it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll show us the bridge again when there are flowers o it. ;-)
What fabulous and beautiful places. I love the curve of the bridge. The cathedral is fantastic. One must wonder if they are so spectacular or if you capture them so well that they are. I think they must be incredible, but not every picture would show them as such as yours do.
ReplyDeleteIvar: What a neat capture of the bridge and the church from your world.
ReplyDeleteHow have you been doing?
What a wonderful worldl!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots of the bridges and the cathedral.

ReplyDeleteHi Ivar! The first csthedral pic is the 'money shot' here, awesome, with the sun and that little hint of fence in the bottom corner. Nice shot of the detail also. And the curve of that bridge surely does carry the eye.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you going to get some real snow there? Michigan way has you beat, haha.
Oh, i like the angle on the 3rd bridge pic. Nice shot! The facade of the Cathedral looks so fascinatng and to think it is very old.

ReplyDeleteYour photography is outstanding!
Her kunne du minsanten putta inn enda ett meme: Blomsterbrua hadde vel vært super for "Today`s flower" ;)
Men NESTE gang - da.... Du gjør iallefall en knalljobb som turissjef ;)
Hi Ivar! Stunning photos as usual!

ReplyDeleteNice series. From the look of things appears things are warming up (no ice on the water) in comparison to your prior posts. Blue Skies.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I possibly add to all these positive and true comments? Plus post pictures of the bridges in summer with flowers, that's all.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new Mac and welcome!!
I am sure you will love it!! My internet has been VERY slow again,so it took me some time to load your blog, but it was worth the wait...
Cheers,

I love the cathedral and other historic buildings - has to do with my love for art. Since you photographed bridges, you might like my blogpost: Adventures of an artist: bridges (it's about bridges in China).
ReplyDeleteI have no skill in photography, but painting is something else, haha - cheers, jeannette
By the way, some people can't find me, because my profile pic is not on my comment - what do i need to do to add my profile pic (I do have one), so people can click on it, and it will take to my blog?
