Grey Heron

This is the only breeding species of the heron family located in Norway. I have never seen them around here during winter so for me it is quite cool to see one with icy feathers. I´ll guess the heron don´t think it is very pleasant to stay in Norway nowadays, with such low temperature . Neither do we humans.

Enjoying nature

In my profession I have to deal with all kind of weather. Yesterday was one of those unforgettable moments. The weather was just fantastic. The sun was shining, temperature at 0 degrees Celsius and no wind. The sun created wonderful light as it set. I stood on this mountain as long as it was light trying to catch some photos of the highest peak you see in the background. It is called Storsylen. With 1762 m above sea level it is the highest mountain on the border between Norway and Sweden.
At around 4 pm it got dark, and of course I had forgotten to bring my flashlight. Nope, I won´t do that again, thats for sure. Don´t worry it all went well on the trip down.
