These photos were captured in November 2008. In the top one, you can see St. Olavs Hospital in front and Tyholt Tower in the back.
In the last one you can also see Nidaros Cathedral in the middle, and the city center to the left of the cathedral.

I like the day and night views of essentially the same scene. The Tybolt Tower looks a lot like Seattle's Space Needle, at least at this distance.
ReplyDeleteAmazing landscape. With wren about the space needle in the middle :)
ReplyDeleteIvar: What a wonderful view of your home city.
ReplyDeleteTrondheim looks like a larger place than I'd imagined. It's pretty at night.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Cityscape,Ivar.
ReplyDeleteja fin by du bor i å fine bilder også.
ReplyDeleteGosh, what an amazing view.... I feel like a teensy weensy little ant in this HUGE city!!

Mountain Retreat
Flotte night shots, Ivar.
ReplyDeleteDet er godt det går mot lysere tider så vi slipper å ta nattbilder fra kl 16.30 ;)
I love the clarity of your photos and the great scale. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat vantage points, Ivar. In the second shot I can see even farther beyond the city. Great cityscape!
ReplyDeleteWonderful skyline image! Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI admire the purity in those images and the attention to detail. The sky in the second one makes me want to dive in it.
ReplyDeleteBut I can't help wondering - what's the semi-star looking light in the bottom?
Magnificent night shots, Norway is definately on my must visit list of countries.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

ReplyDeleteOh it is so beautiful to capture the whole city in the night. Love the lights. Have a nice week ahead.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images of the city! You also have some great snow pictures. Beautiful stuff, but hard to get anywhere quickly when it is that deep.
ReplyDeleteThese are magnificent pictures, but "the sleeping dog" from the previous post is far more interesting because it reminded me on some earlier times when I used to climb antenna towers :-). Greetings from Croatia
ReplyDeleteTrondhjem ser jo nesten ut som en storby.
ReplyDeleteHar ikke sett Bergen på denne måten.

ReplyDeleteA few years ago I was in Trondheim and enjoyed walking about. I was there with a Norwegian cousin. We had to walk, so I saw only a small part of Trondheim. I had no idea that the city was that large. Thanks for showing!
ReplyDeleteIvar...I can't tell you how much I enjoyed catching up on your blog. Finally have a decent connection...Wow, some fantastic photos here....the snow and sky shots below are just awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThere is a very good chance I will be going to Sweden and Norway this summer. If so, we will have to meet, and you can show me your gorgeous country...
Cheers,
Scotty
Fantastiske bilder av Trondheim!
ReplyDeleteWow Ivar! That first shot is incredibly beautiful! It reminds me of downtown St.Paul, Minnesota, US; the lights of the city line stretch for miles.
ReplyDeleteA perfect shot; good for you!
Sarah
Great Blog! I like your photos, keep working.
ReplyDeleteFantanstic, as ever.
ReplyDeleteDu går snart John en høy gang når det gjelder kveld/natt-bilder!
ReplyDeletePS Takk for kommentaren!
fort gjort...:-)
ReplyDeleteSorry john
OH, that's nice!
ReplyDeleteI was an erasmus student here in Trondheim for autumn semester. I miss Trondheim and Norway sooo much! It's wonderful, cozy little town!
I just found your blog. Now you will have one more subscriber. :) I wish I would have found it earlier, then maybe we could have arranged some photo walk. :)
Now I'm trying to find some internship in Trondheim, so I could go back at least for some time! :)

Cheers,
Mykolas
