Grey Heron

This is the only breeding species of the heron family located in Norway. I have never seen them around here during winter so for me it is quite cool to see one with icy feathers. I´ll guess the heron don´t think it is very pleasant to stay in Norway nowadays, with such low temperature . Neither do we humans.

  2. Supert Ivar.

  10. Hi Ivar! A beautiful bird, but very cold! We have a lot of grey herons overhere. I didn't know that they went so far north.

  11. Beautiful image Ivar, your bird looks like what we call the Great Blue Heron here in America. They winter here wherever they can find open water to feed.

  12. Beautiful bird! We have grey herons at the river behind the house. And I often think it is so cold in the winter.

  13. What a shot! And I do also think that this bird would rather be somewhere else than in your cold country. I live in middle Finland, and we had a very cold period recently, and very much snow this year.
Your other photos are great too, so sharp and nice colours. I,m sure I'll visit here again some day ^_^
