Looking back over my shoulder

My wonderful mom sent me these two pictures on e-mail. Yepp, it is me.

Great memories run through my head when I see them. These are shot where my grandparents lived, a 4 hours drive north of Trondheim. I used to go there every summer and fishing was one of my favorite activities.

In the first pic, me and my dad are in a wooden boat on lake Salsvatnet. It is the second deepest lake in Norway and Europe with 482 meters as the deepest point.
I guess that we are going to pick cloudberries on this trip. I felt quite cool driving this boat with a 9.9 HK motor.
Looking at my hat I hear... Y M C A.....

In this second shot I have been out on the fjord catching a cod. I remember it so well. Everything, from the fish swallowed the bait until my mom shot this photo. Some memories are stuck.
Oh yes I was proud.

Have some memorable days everyone.

  2. Wonderful photos. How old were you in the first photo? Ten or nine? And in the second six? My youngest grandchild is six and he is also proud that he can catch so many and such big fish. It's wonderful to see him handling the fishing rod.Thank you for sharing. You can be proud of these photos.

  18. Very sweet photos! Just recently I began converting some of my old slides and negatives to jpegs. It has been fun. I've been doing some from my husbands childhood also, so those are 50+ years old! Anyway, I understand how fun it is to walk down memory lane. Thanks for sharing.

  19. Nice fish, Ivar. I've heard that in Norway the fish are all as long as your leg. This proves it.

  26. Fenomenalt!
