My wonderful mom sent me these two pictures on e-mail. Yepp, it is me.
Great memories run through my head when I see them. These are shot where my grandparents lived, a 4 hours drive north of Trondheim. I used to go there every summer and fishing was one of my favorite activities.
In the first pic, me and my dad are in a wooden boat on lake Salsvatnet. It is the second deepest lake in Norway and Europe with 482 meters as the deepest point.
I guess that we are going to pick cloudberries on this trip. I felt quite cool driving this boat with a 9.9 HK motor.
Looking at my hat I hear... Y M C A.....
In this second shot I have been out on the fjord catching a cod. I remember it so well. Everything, from the fish swallowed the bait until my mom shot this photo. Some memories are stuck.
Oh yes I was proud.
oh how adorable were you?! so cute!! funny how a photograph can bring back so many memories.. even the smells, and the feeling we had in those moments. thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteblessings,

Wonderful photos. How old were you in the first photo? Ten or nine? And in the second six? My youngest grandchild is six and he is also proud that he can catch so many and such big fish. It's wonderful to see him handling the fishing rod.Thank you for sharing. You can be proud of these photos.

ReplyDeleteVery sweet photos! Just recently I began converting some of my old slides and negatives to jpegs. It has been fun. I've been doing some from my husbands childhood also, so those are 50+ years old! Anyway, I understand how fun it is to walk down memory lane. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNice fish, Ivar. I've heard that in Norway the fish are all as long as your leg. This proves it.

Nice catch you have here! Old photos are so much fun. Thanks for sharing these snapshots from your youth.

Veldig søt.. Det minner meg på at man kan aldri ta for mange bilder av sine barn! Det vil bli verdsatt med tiden ;)
ReplyDeleteLucky you having a young and ITC active mom.
ReplyDeleteDoes she have her own blog too

Ready to visit
Maybe you have your talent for photography from your mom? She must be a great encouragement to you (also when you were younger!)
ReplyDeleteyou are a lucky guy with a mom like that!
cheers.
Fenomenalt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little boy :-)
ReplyDeleteIvar, the handball players (girls) from Trondheim - Byasen Handball Elite - come to Poland, to my city, Lublin, on saturday (14.02). Yesterday I bought the tickets and I'm going to see the match and norwegian girls!
