ABC Wednesday. H is for Hell

abc wednesdayround3

Hell is a small place about 30 km east of Trondheim, close to Trondheim Airport Værnes/TRD.

The name is from an old Norwegian word 'hellir', and means overhang.

Hell also means 'stroke of good luck' :-)

For English speaking people this is a popular place to visit :-)

These pictures are, as you can see, from the railway station.

"GODS" means something like cargo.

As you can see, Hell is not beneath. It is 3.9 meters above sea level :-)

This last one is a postcard, one of the most famous ones. Found this on Internet, here.

  5. Supert!!!!!!!!!!!
Har helt siden jeg begynte å delta i ABCW ønsket å ha bilder herfra.
Det har imidlertid vært for kostbart å reise dit bare av den grunn.
    Nå har du løst utfordringen

  40. Language is funny. For those of us speaking English, "stroke of good luck" as the meaning for "hell" is nothing short of hilarious. The pictures are all wonderful, and just make me laugh in light of the language thing. And the last one, well, it looks like "hell!"
