This is the Great Cormorant. You can often see this bird by the sea, freshwater lakes and rivers. It can dive really deep to find food, for the most a wide variety of fish. After a dive/swim they spread out their wings to let the wings/feathers dry.

ReplyDeleteWe have cormorant in and around Tampa, Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico, and I have shot them a few times. They actually let me get pretty close. I love it when they stretch out their necks and then fly. Great shot. (Love your country. It is so beautiful.)- Frank
